1.Economic and Educational Opportunity: It’s time we started expanding opportunity and stopped shrinking the middle class. We need good Tennessee jobs & good wages for workers and good schools & college opportunities for kids regardless of their zip code.2.Fairness & Dignity—People matter. Our seniors who have worked their whole lives should be able to retire in dignity. Working people should be able to take their children to a doctor when they’re sick. As the engine of prosperity, small business owners shouldn’t have to beg for the same treatment given to big corporations. 3.Responsibility & Accountability—It’s time politicians stopped complaining about the government and started running it well. I’m focused on making government more effective, more accessible and open for citizens. That also means holding people and programs accountable and eliminating waste, fraud and abuse where it exists.

Do you support the mandatory helmet law for motorcycles?
Interesting question, I’m focusing a lot more on Education and Jobs/Economy, but since you asked…I have plenty of friends who have had motorcycle accidents and I think helmets are a smart choice…but should they be mandated? For adults, my gut says no, but I would have to hear much more from all sides of the argument in order to decide. I have lived in states with laws on either side, but as I am not a rider, I don’t know enough about the arguments on each side and would like to learn more.
